I'm excited ... researching now
Having issues now seeing existing aircraft .. ?? I blue outline of the planes patrolling, but no aircraft. I've started research on carrier .. does the new carriers research affect in anyway I need to account for ?
Thanks
Naval bombers still sucks, so aircraft carriers are useless at now.
They can carry TB and int too you know.modemowiec wrote:

These units are going to completely change the air game. Really looking forward to seeing them on the field.
Already have one in production, fellas. Man, I am going to love this. Problem is tac bombers need to be level 4+ to fit on to them, pity but something is something.
The aircraft carrier has created a new strategy.

Its seems everyone here is woefully misinformed about naval bombers. They should also be called "Patrol Bombers," or "Maritime Patrol Aircraft," because their main purpose is to hunt submarines. Regardless of their title, they are of limited utility in CoW, even though they should have range comparable to Strategic Bombers. But, as @Quasi-duck wrote, carriers are still useful given they may carry tactical bombers and interceptors.Quasi-duck wrote:

What CoW should have is Torpedo Bombers, aircraft like the Fairey Swordfish, which are real threats to ships.

Fairey Swordfish Torpedo Bombers on the Royal Navy carrier HMS Victorious, 1941. This is what we need!
Other aircraft that could be included would be Grumman Avengers, Brewster Buccaneers, TBD Devastator, Fairey Albacores, and larger DeHavilland Mosquitoes, Bristol Beaufighters, and Tupolev Tu-2s
I think navalbombers in this game are supposed to be good against ships, but they aren't. Good against subs, though.Liberinsula wrote:

TBs can not be used on carriers. Whats really needed is a small attack aircraft so that more can be fit on a carrier. Something with about 1/2 the strength and 1/2 the range of a TB.
Level 4+ plus can be....gary sc wrote:

That is called a fighter-bomber.gary sc wrote:

That is quite a good idea. Probably naval dive bombers. There's plenty of types from many, MANY nations. Example types include the Blackburn Skua, Douglas SBD Dauntless, Aichi D3A Vals, and even the abortive Ju-87 Stuka version for use on the cancelled German Aircraft Carrier Graf Spee.gary sc wrote:

I should have also added half the size too

I love the carriers! This will be a great feature for my WWII RPG on World Map.

Good is an understatement.....it brought up the level of realism hugely, and I can see how that'd be very import to a roleplayer.Maximilien wrote:
