In my opinion, each nation is free to decide their destiny, and to avoid wars between Russia and Ukraine in the future, it would be best that the region of Crimea was independent.
Maybe, but would that not tempt a stronger power (Ukraine and/or Russia) to attack it in the future?

As much as possible is that Ukraine is divided into two zones,a zone for Russia and the other in favour of the European Union.

Although the situation can be fixed with dialogue and democracy.

Well, if the people want it, so be it. Right now the people have not decided.

Democracy would solve the problem existing in the Crimea.

Exactly. Which is why Russia kind of needs to back off, Ukraine needs to let us help, and the people need not to be reluctant to turn over to democracy.

The people of Crimea must decide whether to be independent, go with Ukraine or with Russia.

Crimea is Ukraine. When Russia had it, they killed half the native population, the Crimean Tartars.

Even Kruschev gave it to Russia, and iirc Russia accepted that it Ukrainian, only greedily grabbing it when Ukraine decided they didn’t want to be a corrupt Russian puppet state. That’s when Russia decided to invade.
