Deader than ever

Just logged in (starting playing on and off again, with friends). Decided to check the forum. Last forum reply in the Off Topic section is from over a month ago. Sad... There used to be hundreds of posts a day in this section alone. Good old days are gone. Miss you @Quasi-duck.

That might be, but it seems to be that even these 'waves' of new life are not even comparable to the forum at its peak, with the forum gang.

I'm sure COVID has something to do with it feeling quieter lately. I personally discovered this game during COVID looking for a way to play a simple game of Risk online with friends and realizing there was something even better out there (this game). Most of them have stopped playing now that life is back to pre-COVID normal. People aren't as desperate for online entertainment as they used to be.

This is a very good point! As more offices try to get everyone to return to work, it's harder for the average player to keep up with games. I wish I had discovered the game earlier; I just started playing in June of 2021.

Haha right. It's real easy for me to keep the game open on a second or third monitor when I'm working from home (which means I can micromanage my units in between meetings, awesome). That would be frowned upon if I tried it on days that I'm in the office.

exactly, this is the actual answer to the the thread. People mostly don't get enough time out of work off-line, much less than the free time got during online work.

Yep, that's the secret to my success too. Working from home with my personal laptop right next to my work computer. I can't imagine playing a game while in the office.

It's really been a long time. Had no time since graduation until work.

True what is happening right now, can't wait to see people complaining of how dead it is in 2024!

An undead forum actually sounds pretty scary... does it come after us???

When the enemy is driven back, we have failed. When he is cut off, encircled and dispersed, we have succeeded.
