Ebb And Flow Of The Forums Is Different.
I feel like the introduction of Carking into the forums changed the Forums from a legitimate place of assistance and help to a spam liking garbage post fest. This is not meant to offend anyone, but full offence to all of those who participate in this, i used to like this place, and it was moderated quite well, now its so absolutely trash that the mods cant bother to even attempt to try to moderate it anymore. This place also used to be a safe space for anyone of any rank, but now, apparently, rank = how smart and powerful you are, which is utter bullshit. I'm not blaming Bytro for anything, i'm blaming the horrible users who turned this into a straight up land-fill of burning plastic, not only are half the posts just spammed for likes, 9/10 of them aren't even relevant to anything to do to with CoW anymore. "Its not that bad, It can't be!" If you were around back in the younger Forum days, you know very well what i mean. I am leaving the forum, besides to check my wall and write some HELPFUL stuff every so often, i will not interact with shit-posting and like spamming anymore, do not flood my wall with garbage either, please, as i would like to read stuff that matters, in any sense of being. Do not take this post out of context and say that i hate the new gen of Forum (Carking joining+), trust me i do, they suck, and think everything is based around rank and how many likes you have (Some aren't like this, lots of love to those people
), which is WHY i dislike them. But this isn't about me entirely, its about the Ebb and Flow of the Forum, lets look into some examples. The 4 RP posts with like 200 pages each. shit-posting like-fest. Go back a few years and those conversations were 50 Pages max and contained everything that all 4 of these ones did. A real dedicated RP conversation that didn't turn into shit-posting and garbage conversations. Now, i know y'all are gonna hate me in the comments, and that's fine, doesn't affect me. Lets look at perhaps another example... Now this one is absolutely horrible, mo lord. The election posts. Not only were the previous ones actually fruitful and contain legitimate info that i think is quite fine, and its good content, the new one was literally just an argument about the word French. That's it. Most mind-numbing post I've ever read, some people did good, and that's really good, they're getting somewhere, kudos to them for knowing the difference between garbage and quality content, and not arguing about the word French... French, is there something wrong with the French? Is this some kinda Racist thing? Not sure, but it kinda pisses me off how people censor a word that describes a group of people who are very real and very much alive, and not all are bad. "It's just a joke!" Don't joke about censoring a population of people. That shit is NOT funny, only bad people and racist's find that stuff funny. Now i don't go around saying Ame***ans like they're a filthy disease we shouldn't mention. Now, if you are all still with me and not yelling in chat for me to leave faster or threatening me, lets look at some Play-through posts, ah yes, this, THIS IS QUALITY, South Africa Play-through's, Aussie Play-through's, Mexico Play-through's, All good stuff, good job guys....Until a while after Carking and his gang joined and messed them up, turning them into 60 page conversations and flooding them with garbage. Still with me? Great! Lets go over WHY i'm making this post shall we?
Lets see.... Aha, yes, this morning someone instantly assumed that i was in a bad mood because i didn't get a spot in some silly HWW game 3 weeks ago that ended up turning into, what I've heard to be, kinda bad and not worth the gold. I won't name names, as that is not the point, the only person who should receive lash from this post is me, and i very well expect it. Not sure what to talk about now, but lets see what else i can pull from the land-fill, nope, not much else, I think I'm about done here, hanging up my hat and handing my salutations to those who deserve it, i might add more later if i feel like it, and i probably will, this is not about me entirely, no, its to show people how much has actually changed. And it saddens me to see this happen, but as a good man once said; "Change is Inevitable, bound by time itself to happen, so instead of trying to revert it, we should instead hope for the best, and expect the worst." - [REDACTED]
I knew the Forum would eventually change, but for the worst, I did not think it would be so. I'll gladly chat with anyone who would like to discuss anything, but my entire argument rests here, forevermore, and to the end. (Oh btw Carking i know you'll find this, you have responded to threads that are legitimately 3+ years old, you're bound to see this eventually, if it be in 5 minutes or 5 years, this isn't entirely on you, you could have changed what you chose to influenced and instead turned this place into a thriving, nice community with the activity you brought with you.)
You may still find me in the CoW Game chat, you may also send me CoW mail or DM me from the chat, i will respond within 3-5 business days.
This is your's truly;
Fox-Company, LTS Specialist.

as much as I dislike fox as a furry creature or, whatever he is, jumping off a bridge is not good

Stop being a drama queen and stop trying to pick a fight.
Arguments happen, but we need to move on from them like civilized people.
This applies to everyone in this thread, not just Russ.

I don't want to get too involved with this discussion, but I would like to say that what @Fox-Company is saying is more true than you may initially think. I noticed it almost immediately when I became active on the forum again in mid-2023. The "ebb and flow" of the forum has changed. Where the community before was built almost entirely around CoW, with moderation being enforced pretty well by BMfox, there is now a much closer connected group, with CoW being less of a major thing. Discussions do get off-topic a lot, and a lot of conversations on here aren't CoW-related or are only partially relevant to the game. @Carking the 6th, you were the main reason for this change, that I can confirm. You brought a lot of the people who are active now/kept them active and, through your activity, set a standard of how conversations are conducted here. I remember wanting "old Claudio" back soon after I returned, lol. A lot of people changed as a result of all this. To say that the forum hasn't changed from 201/2022 to 2023 would be false, I can testify to that through my personal experience of being active in both forum eras. People behave differently, and discussions are a lot more casual. Things I would rather have not seen(should have been moderated) are almost common, and it's hard to say that @Carking the 6th isn't involved in those things in any way since he is involved in just about everything here. Initially, this big change in the way people interacted on the forum caught me by surprise, as well as the way that some users have changed their behaviour such as with @Claudio NVKP. It took me a few weeks to fully ease into the way things are now. Okay, now here is where I disagree: Is this really a bad thing? I mean, maybe it's less about CoW now, but the community was never as tight-knit before as it is now. This has become a great place to chill and talk about random things with people. Also, CoW is still a major point of the discussions on here. This has turned from a semi-formal place to ask random game questions to a fun community of people who feel comfortable spending time and talking about a wide variety of subjects, especially CoW. I know that you personally haven't engaged in that part of the forum as much as me and others, but there are still a ton of great places on here to discuss things that you want. I guess my point is, why look at it from such a negative lens? There is good and bad here, and in my opinion, this is an improvement over what the forum was like back then (maybe not in all ways, but overall). The fact of the matter is, change has occurred, and you can either adapt or do whatever this thread is.

I can vouch for Donk, since I too have also been present from 2020ish (not consistently) It's enough to observe the change of the forum's "ebb and flow". Do I think Car is a major factor in this? Sure, he probably is. However, there are other important factors, such as:
- Audience becoming younger
- Switch from gold-only to introduction of cards
- CoW 2.0
- Promotion of the forum on a similar level to the discord
- More of a "P2W" focus by Bytro
- Among other similar factors
I also consider that the 'levels bug' has impacted the forum greatly, as players who would otherwise never go into the Forum would seek answers to the bug, and therefore make the forum have an influx of members, contributing to the so-called decrease in quality._Pyth0n_ wrote:

I do wish more vets were active, and more discussions were made on topics like jubjub's HT analysis and unit guides, instead of the same generic "add [insert fav country's capital] plsss". You can't really pin this on the modern forum culture tho; hospital suggestions have always been present.

I changed? I thought that was a phase?
You used to be humble about ranks and such like "Points don't matter to me at all". Anyhow, doesn't matter. There's nothing wrong with wanting to get more points.Claudio NVKP wrote:

I’m still the same about that. No change. Points do not matter.Donk2.0 wrote:

And one more thing is that People are getting these huge ranks like General with no effort whatsover, back in the days this wasn’t common at all. How is this happening though.
Firstly, how does rank even matter?Claudio NVKP wrote:

No, they do not, but I'm trying to show all the spamming and like pact things here. They get those end ranks within weeks of joining which is uncommon.Joe Bartolozzi wrote:
