Enemy units disappear from view, cant be targeted, but are able to hit me and not get damaged?

I’m in a game right now.

Situation my opponent and i engaged in a air battle

My 24 lv4 interceptors and 20 lv1 attack bombers split into three stacks versus his 24 lv3 ints and 5 lv3 attack bomber split into three stacks.

I set up my patrols with two of my stacks, before he got there. He sets up a patrol with three stack. My third stack arrives on the seen eight minutes later and starts patrol.

All patrol circles are overlapping

His planes just disappear and he continues to damage me, I thought i was damaging him and it was a graphics glitch. After about 4 patrol clicks i notice my planes are being decimated after

I still cant see his planes

I retreat the planes, a couple of minutes after i start the retreat, his planes appear with no damage on them (from the previous patrols two stack with the same HP) and he direct attacks my fleeing planes.

I have never seen this happen in almost two years of playing I’m level 157 and use planes a lot.

Any thoughts?
