Why does the UK split its team into tiny little uncompetitive pieces?

That would be like Germany splitting into Bavaria, Saxony, Hessen, etc. They would never win a match.

They have been formed to play as a UK team in friendly matches, but the last time they did that was in 1965.

as for enthusiasm for forming a UK team this what i could find on Wikipedia

4 separate British clubs made sense hundred years ago when there were only 3-4 other European clubs worth a damn. Now, the East, Central, and South European clubs are coming on strong, despite emigration. Pretty soon England will have it's hands full jist trying to make it past the likes of Hungry or Serbia in a group round of the WC.

Hungary is a tragedy, similar to Russia. A country with lots of potential swept up and held back under a near millennium of despotism that still lasts to this day. The fact the people have managed to achieve so much despite their rulers is a miracle.

Umm, the peak of Hungary was as an empire ruling over a dozen other nations. The democratic nation state is a modern creation. Prior to that, it was ruled by nomadic warlords, despots, emperors, kings, etc. If it wasn't for their expansionist, militaristic tradition, they would have been absorbed into the neighboring Slavic nations centuries ago.
