War related first thing to pop in my head are the 2 series : Brothers in Arms and Pacific both made by Spielberg. Non war related must be Il capo dei capi . Great movie.

Goodfellas, it is one of those movies where you only have to watch a few seconds of it before you are completely absorbed...

My number one is and will always be Gladiator, all though Inglorious Bastards was really good too.

For a Non based US War movie it has to be Enemy At The Gates just how it shows the struggles based on the greatest defeat an Major turning point in my opinion [ The Battle of Stalingrad]

For a US based war movie it has to be Saving Private Ryan
