Happy Independence Day!

Today, July 4, 2017, is the 241st birthday of the United States of America. Sure, the Revolutionary War had actually started a year earlier (1775), and, yes, it took another 5 years of bitter fighting and an alliance with France before the final battlefield victory was won (1781), and another two years to get the Mother Country to acknowledge the new reality (1783), but America was born free . . . embodied in the state motto of New Hampshire: "Live free or die."

So, as the "MontanaBB" family clan is gathered around the picnic table, wolfing down Carolina pulled pork sandwiches, grilled chicken, potato salad and cold beer, we wish everyone the same freedoms ---- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness ---- for which our ancestors fought and died, and which we continue to enjoy over two centuries later.

To all my British, German, Canadian, Italian, Australian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish friends ----

Happy Fourth of July, y'all!

Uh, no. In fact, I have no idea what nationality you are. I had wrongly assumed you were either American or Canadian, given your command of idiomatic English and your North American spelling.

It would help, of course, if you listed your hometown or place of residence on your forum profile.

I was joking man... and people figuring out my home time get bonus points so I can't just publish it... )))

Well, then we'll just put you on the list as a "citizen of the world."

Kumbaya, mon.
