HPET On Games

Greetings, friends. I'd like to give a heartfelt welcome to all gamers and visitors alike. I wish you all the best of health. The reason for this has to do with video games. That is, I'd like to learn more about "HPET" and why it needs to be turned off in order to play games. It perplexes me much. Do you have any suggestions?

HPET distorts the way "time" is handled on your computer. It only works for apps which have specifically been adjusted to use it; and this browser game which doesn't really require this kind of high precision never was. It does handle several timers though (for example, the amount of time before the next combat ticking down) and this probably gets mangled up by HPET.

When the enemy is driven back, we have failed. When he is cut off, encircled and dispersed, we have succeeded.
