Pershing. Tiger II was slow and unreliable.
IS 2 vs Tiger II vs M26 Pershing
Saw the poll about the aircraft, thought it would be interesting to see the public's opinion on tanks.

Tiger had many issues, but when it worked, it was a beauty. I say Tiger II.

The Germans had the best tanks of the second world war. Tiger II.
"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius.

that
Paton saw some new tanks abandoned in camouflage decor and asked about them and one of his commanders found it was abandoned ran on our of fuel it was used as target practice and not one of the allied tanks could do any damage except to the paint

I hate to have to argue but this is why the Tiger II was not such a good tank. With all due respect, parts were damaged easily and they often ran out of fuel.oceanhawk wrote:

Joseph Stalin once said: βThe war was decided by engines and octane.β
Winston Churchill agreed with Stalin on the importance of fuel: βAbove all, petrol governed every movement.β
That is true, but overall, Tigers were the best.

Attack rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously, without rest, however tired and hungry you may be, the enemy will be more tired, more hungry. Keep punching.

Overall? Let's look at it.Kehsct wrote:

Expensive.
Drained all kinds of resources.
Slow.
Heavy.
Hard to transport.
Complicated already awkward logistics.
Took too long to build.
Big.
Easy target from the air.
Hard to tow.
Etc.
It's combat capabilities surpassed almost everything else at that time though.Quasi-duck wrote:

I would say Soviet and American tank destroyers (especially the nimble US ones) would be better. Also, the Tiger II is from 1944 and served 'til '45 when the IS-3 came into service which would eat the Tiger for breakfast.Kehsct wrote:

But the IS-3 never saw service. Also, the Germans did not have any chance at that time of designing and producing a better tank.Quasi-duck wrote:

True, but more Tigers were destroyed by their own weight. No tanks could match them until the Sherman Fire-Fly came along.Quasi-duck wrote:

I agree with a lot of the points about the Tiger II but I would say when each tank was at 100% the tiger wins by a mile.
I totally agree.

The IS-3 did, it has even fought in the Middle East. While it never fought in WWII it was at the Berlin Victory Parade by the Soviets.Kehsct wrote:
