[MAP] Countries that have committed War Crimes (Post 1933)

As I promised @Claudio NVKP, here it is:

Countries in BLUE are ones that have COMMITTED war crimes AND PUBLICLY APOLOGIZED for them.

Countries in RED are ones that have COMMITTED war crimes AND HAVE NOT PUBLICLY APOLOGIZED for them.

NOTE: I didn't include countries like Poland where genocides took place, because the official government in Poland at the time was not responsible for the genocide. (i.e. the genocide was committed by a foreign group)

I used this article for (most of) my research: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_war_crimes

Feel free to tell me if I missed something.

Glory to the Red Army!

Wow.

What made you go THERE.

You have missed Spain, India didn't apologize. Pakistan didn't apologize. The United Kingdom never apologized for many of their war crimes.

Syria should be red. Saudi Arabia should be red.

The President

How could you miss Spain??? The civil war was infamous for its many war crimes; in fact it was in many respects a prelude for the sheer size of war crimes of WW2.

I'm not sure if anyone ever apologized for them; but the Spanish national history is surely told in a different way now.

I also have a dark brown feeling that Africa is a bit "too grey" on this map, a lot of awful stuff ent on there (and still does). For example, read up on Rhodesia/Zimbabwe; but that's just one.

When the enemy is driven back, we have failed. When he is cut off, encircled and dispersed, we have succeeded.

Spain was one of the first things I noticed. Libya and Chad should be red. The Chadian Civil war and war in Chad. Toyota war. Just mentioning a few of Africa.

The President

Thanks for the feedback folks.

Asia and prolly europe alll good except Syria. Also for Rokossovski, Rhodesian crimes weren't exactly "war crimes"

The President

What, the bush war wasn't really war? Who decides when a crime becomes a war crime anyway? Putin calls his invasion of Ukraine a "special operation", does it mean war crimes can't be committed there?

Also, Zambia? What happened to Zambia

The President

Well, I thought I would be safe if the list was post 1933, but I soon realized that's not the case by looking South. Damn

The President

Shouldn't South Korea be included?

Edit: I am too green on africa, but Algeria, Sahara should be looked into.

Also what about South America?

South korea should be added, for its involvement (and bad conduct therein) in the Vietnam war

Syrian bashar regime did commit war crimes.

The President

In addition the Algerian freedom army also targeted the civilians that supported france etc. (Though it's a bit iffy since by then they weren't a nation but a part of france proper)

South Korea has committed war crimes in Vietnam (not surprising as trained by Imperial Japanese Army, later US) and also in the Korean War.

In the end we'll find that there are no grey countries.

Oh, I really love when Kiribati, Vatican and Bhutan teamed up and used their super helicopters to kill 75% of the worlds population.

Well, don't you have any idea about the stuff going on behind closed doors among all those cardinals who congregate to elect their new pope? But hey, the Catholic church is always very good at hiding their dirty laundry!
