Mock Presidential Race!
So I often see a lot of these off topic threads turning into political debates, therefore I thought of something that I think could be pretty fun! This thread will be dedicated to a Mock Presidental Race! Users of the forum who wish to "run" can post their views on certain topics that are on the headlines in the United States and give their call to action for them! The people (YOU GUYS! Everyone is allowed a Vote even if you are running and can change their vote at anytime before deadline) get to vote on who they best seem fit for running the country!
The Party Nominee will be elected by June 9th at 1:00pm! From there, the actual Presidential race with the remaining 3 candidates will start! The end date for that will be June 19th at 1:00pm!
The Layout could look something like this...

National Security: (Your stance here and call to action)
Immigration: (Your stance here and call to action)
Military: (Your stance here and call to action)
Abortion: (Your stance here and call to action)

(And anymore issues that you think the country is facing)

The 3 Main parties you can run for (for organization purposes guys) are as follows
-Democratic Party
-Republican Party
-Independent (clarify a bit)
Once you formal address issues you will be added into the poll list! The people who wish not to participate in running but want to vote may question candidates. Candidates are allowed to "debate" with other candidates on the thread, but try to keep it nice and organized so that the people (forum users) can read the thread with ease. And yes, if people who wish to run have expressed their political beliefs on other threads you can use that against them, as Candidates use other candidates pasts in real life!
Remember you want to win, so do whatever you think that takes! But remember play fair and good luck!

Due to the absence of a democratic candidate, our two candidates are representing both the Republican and Indepedent party,
Republican Candidate, Sir Mcsquiggles
And our Indepdent Candidate GreatBigHippo!
Congratulations to both candidates for getting the votes to win your party!
I encourage you strongly to re-read the candidates views are vote accordingly to your beliefs!
During this time, I encourage the public (you guys) to question candidates.

Are you folks not tired of the current issues plaguing our nation? It won't be soon before our country becomes overrun with illegals and terrorists! That is why a wall would be an excellent idea! As president, I will make LEGALIZED immigration easier, and enforce ILLEGAL immigration for occurring. Immigration and terrorism is a very real problem. We have no way of knowing who illegal immigrants are, and what their intentions are. But the answer is not building a wall like Sir McSquiggles would have you believe. The answer is changes in policy. There are two ways we can stop the immigration problem: We can make it impossible for illegal immigrants to start a life in the country. If we were to require proof of citizenship before people got jobs, education, or drivers licenses, there would be no reason to migrate to the country. Or we can increase blue collar industries in the United States, and make immigration much easier, which would provide more jobs for Americans and legal immigrants, and bring more wealth to the country.
Terrorism, however, is a much more difficult subject. A fight against terrorism is not a fight against a group of people, it's a fight against an idea, and walls can't keep ideas out. It is wise not to take refugees from countries that you are currently fighting in, whether the enemy is a large terrorist group like ISIS or a sovereign nation. The most important thing when fighting a terrorist organization is to know who your real enemy is: the ideas that drive it.

Yes, freedom = fairness in certain situations. Economics is not one of them. If you read my original campaign statement you can see that I promote certain freedoms more than any other candidate. Squiggles supports the creation of a national firewall, which undermines freedom more than anything else I have advocated.oceanhawk wrote:
