Mock Presidential Race pt. 2

Hello! Back again with another mock presidential race!

This one will share a lot of things with the first version however, this one will be a race for the Prime Minister of The United Kingdom!

Due to the rather recent resigning of David Cameron, I thought it would be a good country. Many of you suggested we should do a race for a different country! So here we go!

Same rules apply as the last race, (reference thread "Mock Presidential Race" in "off topic")

However you will be running for Prime Minister of the United Kingdom!

The following political parties in the race are the following,

PartyPolitical PositionLeader

Conservative and Unionist PartyCentre-rightDavid Cameron
Labour PartyCentre-leftJeremy Corbyn
Scottish National PartyCentre-leftNicola Sturgeon
Liberal DemocratsCentreTim Farron

Have fun! Remember candidates can respectfully debate each other!

Poll for party representatives will end July 15th!

After that, the winners of each party will move on to the PM race!

Everybody can vote, and your vote can be changed at anytime! Just remember to use that feature responsibly!

I'm your host Vex03,

Then you don't know me. I work surprisingly hard for someone who sits around so much. You should see my coveralls at the end of a day. Last time I used them the cement that was on them came off because I got absolutely soaked when the end came off a hose. The crotch is still covered in paint though.

Then why are they still poor?
Yea, after a while.. you will realize, My family are starving, and everybody else is piggybacking off me..

Communism sucks, and should almost be considered a disease or a crime or something, because of the amount of people that die because of it is horrible..

Meanwhile.. some how this "big bad free enterprise" lifts people out of poverty,

Oh, but we don't reward them. They reward themselves.

Because in every society there is poor people. More so in Soviet Russia, less so in Western nations.
The past is a foreign country.

Lol. What does a school principal do all year, vs a farmer?

Lol.

One, it is called the USSR, it was a union of states, like the US, and two, stop loving in the past bruh.

Yeah, ik it was called the USSR, but it was kind of a wink to the former CIA Soviet Russia division. And two, you're bringing up Communism. There isn't a real Communist state nowadays, so I have to bring up the past. And I also bring it up to show how Communism was a failure.
The past is a foreign country.

Uh, how? Of course it got bad towards the end, but before, and up to the series of revolutions during it, WWI in the Russian Empire, it was a feudal society where people were basically slaves. Which is a helluva lot worse.

Yeah, but the fact that Tsarist Russia was shit doesn't make Commie Russia good.
The past is a foreign country.

It makes it better for the people who lived there.

In a commie world.. just starve..

Creative.... not.

I didn't say the opposite, but better than a lot of shit is still shit.
The past is a foreign country.

It is still better. It also made the nation a super power. How do you think it had a Cold War with America for 50 or so years?

It is still better - than Tsarist Russia. Not better than the capitalist West, though. And the fact that the nation was a superpower doesn't mean that the people lived well. In fact, in the USSR's case, it meant the opposite.
The past is a foreign country.

Hardly. The USSR only rationed up until 1935, so not even during WWII, wiki says.

On the other hand, starting from 1940, the British had to ration until 1954.

Lol, that is some distortion of the truth. What about the huge famines in the countryside before and during WW2?

I said up until 1935. So yes, they did happen, and there was rationing. The USSR was a fledgling nation then though.

Pablo22510 wrote:

I have never heard of those, so I doubt they happened.

None in WWII.

The Golubev and Dronin report gives the following table of the major droughts in Russia.[1]

  • Central: 1920, 1924, 1936, 1946, 1972, 1979, 1981, 1984.
  • Southern: 1901, 1906, 1921, 1939, 1948, 1951, 1957, 1975, 1995.
  • Eastern: 1911, 1931, 1963, 1965, 1991.

Pablo22510 wrote:

And when was the USSR not a fledgling nation?
I would say from the 60's onwards.

Quasi-duck wrote:

Lol, on the contrary. That was when it started to become more and more fledgling, as it's economy couldn't keep up with the American one.
The past is a foreign country.
