Hello! Back again with another mock presidential race!
This one will share a lot of things with the first version however, this one will be a race for the Prime Minister of The United Kingdom!
Due to the rather recent resigning of David Cameron, I thought it would be a good country. Many of you suggested we should do a race for a different country! So here we go!
Same rules apply as the last race, (reference thread "Mock Presidential Race" in "off topic")
However you will be running for Prime Minister of the United Kingdom!
The following political parties in the race are the following,
PartyPolitical PositionLeader
Conservative and Unionist Party
Centre-right
David Cameron
Labour Party
Centre-left
Jeremy Corbyn
Scottish National Party
Centre-left
Nicola Sturgeon
Liberal Democrats
Centre
Tim Farron
Have fun! Remember candidates can respectfully debate each other!
Poll for party representatives will end July 15th!
After that, the winners of each party will move on to the PM race!
Everybody can vote, and your vote can be changed at anytime! Just remember to use that feature responsibly!
I'm your host Vex03,
Let's get RIOOOGHHTT into the debates!

I will tell you what, name one country where Capitalism has failed.. or a country that is doing worse since it opted to Capitalist policies and you win
Well, finding a country with something clearly labelled "capitalism" is hard. But I heard Ghana ain't too nice, nor is Somalia.

No.. Its not Sanctions that are the problem at all. North Korea, shares a boarder and trade deal with one the biggest economies in the world.. China
Sanctions are not the reason, their economies suck and people die as a result..
And the problem isnt finding a country clearly labelled Capitalism, the problem finding an example of where a country with capitalist policies failed..
Ghana? Huh doesnt seem really Capitalist with its Universal Healthcare

China is trying to distance itself from NK. Not even I will say that NK is overly dramatic, and potentially dangerous. Though that is due to the leadership, not the system.

America isnt a perfect Capitalist societyAmerica gassing her Citizens isnt in the name of Capitalism, or has anything to do with Capitalism
I don't know what event you're thinking of, but capitalism was literally exactly why the gassing was done. More specifically, it was to prevent the spread of unionization in the US during the 1920s.

After the calapse... unemployment was under double digits, until the government got involved. They introduced a tariff bill on imports, even do 1000 Economists signed an opening letter, calling for Congress and the president to reject this bill.. it was passed anyway...
And now you know how the Great Depression, got into Double digit figures

Uh, no, what are you on about?
The Greek crisis started in late 2009, triggered by the turmoil of the Great Recession, structural weaknesses in the Greek economy, and revelations that previous data on government debt levels and deficits had been undercounted by the Greek government

The lack of economic knowledge is... rather grody
Venezuela has the largest Oil Reserves in the world. And only the government, could make a mess of that...
Was nationalized (Stupidly) and now their depend on that Industry alone, as their main export..
Government = Useless...
government control of factors of production = poverty
Pls dont make me type the rest....
And..
There is no Toliet paper in Venezuela.... Like I can understand a socialist nation, not being able to make Cars or planes.. but they cant even supply toilet paper....
And again Sanctions is not the reason, they cant supply it

Ahaha, the article has no facts..
you are literally bringing feelings to a fact fight..
The government bailed out the banks.. which is an anti- Capitalist move..
Hence Greece has a 25 odd unemployment rate

PDVSA had a revenue of $128.44 billion in 2014. How is that bad?

Do you even have a source for this? BTW there is no toilet paper in some households in Asia because they have a toilet that washes their rear end for them.

If command economies are bad, why does every country adopt them during wars?

Guess Quasi forgot to mention Stalin's purges. The crimes Capitalists committed aren't even NEAR as bad as what Communists have done. Ironically you spoke about freedom of speech before, when in Communist countries there's poor freedom of speech lol. If you really hate capitalism so much go move to a Communist country? Can't comprehend how somebody would rather live under a dictatorship and have little rights than be in a free society. Also Somalia isn't capitalist it hardly has a goverment lol. Closest thing to anarchy on earth.

Jeepers, your thick chap!(JK) 95% of their economy depends on OIL! How the hell is that good...
Again from the Wiki... Im sorry but Voluntary exchange cant fail, think about it.. How can a system, like capitalism actually fail?
If you have carton of milk, and I have 1.50$ , I buy the milk from you, you value the 1.50 more than the milk. And I value the Milk more than 1.50.. Its all about Voluntary exchange..
Socialism never ahs worked.. and if you really want Socialism, it must mean you want to starve to death, and die.. Cos there really no other explanation for it..
Find me one example of socialism working in full, and you and hippo can have the victory
fail to do this.. the rest of us that want our freedom, win

They kill their own citizens, or maybe do illegal tests on them? It will certainly tear the govt. apart.

I've given you multiple nations, at least two, then you go all "No True Scotsman".

Did you just justify the deaths of 35 million+ people at the hands of Communists because the capitalists did bad stuff too? Agent Orange and MKUltra weren't nearly as bad as murdering 35million+ people. Also, you don't think the USSR attempted experiments just as bad? Dude it amazes me how you can think this stuff.

I never said that, I was simply implying that Communists aren't as evil compared to others as you seem to think they are.
Not A Communist wrote:

Agent Orange is still affecting Vietnam veterans to this day. These are men who, at not even 20 for a lot, were sent to a fight a war in a nation they knew nothing about for an ideology they did not care for, and did not want to fight.
MKUltra was illegal testing on citizens from a nation that has wage wars for "freedom". Hypocrites, eh?
Not A Communist wrote:
You know quite well the Soviets killed their own civilians a lot more than the US as I stated above.
As a result of the US, 100 million Native Americans died, were not citizens of the US until 1924, and could not vote until 1954. The Soviets didn't do that.
Not A Communist wrote:
And is this not illegal? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_lβ¦he_Soviet_secret_services
I personally disagree with the Vietnam war anyway, and I REALLY dislike the US. I actually prefer Russia to the United states. However I just personally dislike Communism, and I don't consider myself a capitalist either.
