And btw, I am starting to have serious second thoughts about lending money. I'm taking that out of the program. The first 50 pages of Thatcher's 'The Downing Street Years' (which I am currently reading) have told me it is pretty bad and gives no space for the private sector to vote.

And finally, we get on to the touchy Obama subject. In normal circumstances, I would have probably thought of Obama as a normal/mediocre president. However, these are not normal circumstances. I am going to miss him so much because if I were American I'd rather shoot myself than see Trump or Hillary elected. And he pulled the America through one of the greatest recessions this world has ever seen. Not exceptionally well, but well enough.

And I don't really have an opinion on the FDA except that it is necessary to regulate medicines, which can potentially be very harmful, but the FDA needs to be regulated itself, so it doesn't prevent useful products from getting to consumers.

Dude, man, I totally, totally, totally want free markets and flat income tax rates. I remind you that my fav economist is Hayek, who is capitalist and libertarian.

And the FDA is there for one reason and one reason only: protecting consumers. If it also prevents consumers from getting good medicines, it will have to be looked into, but no one wants another thalidomide.

I don't disagree with you. Recovery could have been faster with free markets. However, anything Trump or HIllary does is going to be 10 times worse than Obama.

My point exactly. At the time of its release, thalidomide was seen as a 'wonder drug'. Until it caused what we all know it did. So with the FDA, a new thalidomide (aka new deadly medicine) wouldn't be released.

Increase military budget, I am fine with.. One of the few things, I am happy with the government spending money on..

and just back on the FDA stuff, do you have any idea, that soo many drugs dont actually sell in America because of the FDA.. not the regulation, the COSTS! It actually costs a lot of money to get your drugs approved
