Per popular demand, the Race is back! Same rules apply as previous races, however I will re-state some of the more important things in this thread,
-Everyone can run for president/PM/Chancellor
-Everyone can vote, whether you are a candidate or voter.
-Candidates can debate on this thread. Try to keep it semi-respectful otherwise I will request the thread to be closed under extreme circumstances (I'm pretty laid back on this, so don't be afraid)
-Voters may also question candidates and participate in debates.
-Voters may change votes at any time.
-If candidates wish to vote for another candidate they must resign from the race.
-New Rule: Candidates may NOT switch political parties to enable themselves to stay in race.
With all the rules Mumbo-jumbo aside now, let's get right into it!
First and foremost, the country you will all be running for is becoming the President of Germany!
Instead of setting political parties for you all to choose from, I am allowing you to pick any EXISTING political party in Germany. With the obvious exclusion of any sort of fascist, Nazi party due to Bytro's terms.
Check here often for updates or anything I add during the race. Everything will run relatively the same as the last 2!
Please format your application into the race as follows:
-Forum name
-Political Party you wish to represent
-Maybe give first address on some major issues
(Note: Bolding your application will increase the chances of me spotting it through all the debating! Adding this info will make it much easier for me to sort through things so I appreciate it !)
From there, the rest is up to you guys!

-Firstly Cartels will be outlawed, they manipulate the prices on the market and stop fair competition and undermine the customers. The same can be said for Monopoly's which also dominate the market and take power from the consumer. I believe a regulatory body is required to stop Cartels and to stop a Monopoly from occurring and set a 'legal monopoly' bar. This body will have the power to investigate any company operating in Germany and has the power (With a high court ruling) to punish a business for doing cartels or other dubious activity's such as tax dodging, and split a business if a monopoly is forming .
-Secondly i stand for imperfect competition. Although Perfect competition is ideal in a economy where prices are kept competitive and no business gets too big, but it cannot be achieved outside of theory. It is impossible to have it so all business's in a market to have roughly the same market share. We can only achieve the close enough in imperfect competition which still keeps the market competitive and power to the consumer.

I want to know more about both candidates immigration policies. Where do you both stand on immigration ?
It's one thing to say communists endorse a system that will create poverty and slavery, and it's another thing to say communists like poverty itself. We all have the same goal, we just disagree with how to reach it.
In recent years Immigration has got out of hand. While i understand that we should have compassion but a open door policy is not the way forward. I will suspend all non-European immigration for 5-10 years to allow the current immigrants to settle in and for the system to recover then we shall use a system of immigration where you need to have either family or a Job waiting for you in Germany and you must know German language and have basic education in western views and ethics. even then you cannot claim any government help until 5 years of work has been done and then you earn full citizen ship. We need workers no slackers. On top of that the current immigrants shall receive a education from the government to help them integrate into Germany and those who do not comply shall be sent home!
TBH I'm pretty much the same as Elli, bar the bit about families. May lead to a lot of problems with refugees, as we do have a lot right now, a helluva lot unprocessed, and the last thing we need is more.

Communist love poverty, every time its tried there is absolute starvation and poverty. Doesnt take much to connect the dots, but some how peoples freedom in the market place cures poverty!
People being free reach their own goals and conduct their lives however they want (provided they let everyone else do the same) is somehow a recipe for wealth, love, happiness and success
If communists real goal was to make people happy, they would all be capitalistic conservatives or libertarains

I was trying to say something reasonable, that despite our differences we can all agree on. I actually believe that capitalist who are not in 'the 1%' are naturally good people, because you have to be a good person to not see the potential that capitalism has for exploitation and oppression.oceanhawk wrote:
