Mock Presidential Race Pt. 3

Per popular demand, the Race is back! Same rules apply as previous races, however I will re-state some of the more important things in this thread,

-Everyone can run for president/PM/Chancellor

-Everyone can vote, whether you are a candidate or voter.

-Candidates can debate on this thread. Try to keep it semi-respectful otherwise I will request the thread to be closed under extreme circumstances (I'm pretty laid back on this, so don't be afraid)

-Voters may also question candidates and participate in debates.

-Voters may change votes at any time.

-If candidates wish to vote for another candidate they must resign from the race.

-New Rule: Candidates may NOT switch political parties to enable themselves to stay in race.

With all the rules Mumbo-jumbo aside now, let's get right into it!

First and foremost, the country you will all be running for is becoming the President of Germany!

Instead of setting political parties for you all to choose from, I am allowing you to pick any EXISTING political party in Germany. With the obvious exclusion of any sort of fascist, Nazi party due to Bytro's terms.

Check here often for updates or anything I add during the race. Everything will run relatively the same as the last 2!

Please format your application into the race as follows:

-Forum name

-Political Party you wish to represent

-Maybe give first address on some major issues

(Note: Bolding your application will increase the chances of me spotting it through all the debating! Adding this info will make it much easier for me to sort through things so I appreciate it !)

From there, the rest is up to you guys!

Good luck! Let's get RIOOGHHT into the debates

The party primaries will end September 16th!

Because execution is not a punishment. Execution is what you do when there is no point in rehabilitation. And as for a deterrent, most crimes that someone would have gotten executed for are done out of passion.

Then tell me why US prisons are filling up, and prisons in third world nations where prisoners are lucky to get gruel and dirty water are so full.

Because people are being put into prison for years to be rehabilitated for crimes that they would not have done once in a clear state of mind and do not want to do again, or crimes involving drugs. While negative reinforcement is necessary, it is foolish to put otherwise productive people in prison, which in some cases is more likely to debilitate by establishing a criminal identity in someone, so that person ends up committing more crimes and going back to prison after he is released.

Rehabilitation for all crimes assumes that every criminal is in some way deranged, but this is not the case.

You seem to have gotten the wrong kind of rehab.

Instead of giving them electro-shock treatment or a lobotomy (joke), this kind of rehab will give them valuable skill so instead of robbing a house, they can get a job as an IT professional in an office.

Sweet Jesus, no! That is just wrong. Better off just throw them in a hole if you take away their memory... and that re-education sounds a lot like the stuff you see in movies where corrupt governments "re-educate" people. Or in the Addams Family.

Interesting idea...let's give IT Training to criminals so that when they get out of prison, they'll be even better at hacking your identity...smart idea.

um...OK, so if you wipe the brain of memories but leave the abnormalities that CAUSED the sick behavior to happen in the first place, and then release them back into the public so as they can start over on the SAME PATH as before....how have you helped them?

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.
The saying, "beating them into submission until payday", is just golden...pun intended.

Currently, Quasi-Duck of the left party is in the lead by 2 votes! A close race certainly !
