people lose their territory, or just forget to log in onto the map after one night.
Newspaper
What's with the newspaper being more active than the entire global chat for the first day, then becomes completely abandoned along with the round. And why, always, over 100 articles.

Yes, I am always surprised by people LARPing long text on the newspaper day 1... then disappearing day 2 even though they are still at peace;
In 1939 Historical maps the game always starts with people talking about how we're all going to roleplay and people are posting 'political' stuff. By day three half the players are inactive, Canada has conquered Guatemala, and the UK who all the roleplayers were depending on has gone inactive.......
That tends to be how it happens
if im correct there are certain groups focused on roleplaying that are creating roleplay only games, you should either look for them or setup the map like this yourself
Roleplay-only "nerds" are too nerdy for fair and fun gameplay. Roleplay delight is should be in every common game. Not too many, but better than none.
The reason is that people are actually excited to play at the beginning, especially the more powerful countries like Germany, Italy, Soviet Union, US, France, UK, and Japan. However, people begin to lose interest when they start losing or they are stuck in a stalemate situation.
Sometimes, the nation choice doesn't bother a lot, in my game, every single one of the above mentioned nation are gone or inactive except Germany. The newspaper at day 10 is just about published invasion plans for defeating the superpowers or about puppet countries.
That's what I would have thought when I first started playing. Strangely a good deal of the time an incompetent player gets germany and they go inactive. Its especially painful when I am playing as xinjiang and watch this happen.TomtheBuilder wrote:

Frankly Germany is quite incompetent having ignored the inactive scandiania and the baltic states while only having 230 vp's on day 12.
