... Why? They could have built it in an actual city and used it for the Olympics they knew they would host. In fact, the Olympics were awarded to Rio and Brazil back in 2009. They had to know they should use a place that was already built to host the Olympics? No? No. They used it for birds instead.
I never said that it was the best use.
I only like that nature is taking back what it lost e.g. it's patch of forest.

I didn't accuse you of saying that. I am merely making my argument for why it isn't even a good use.

You are against preserving potentially endangered species....?

I'll pull a Quasi-duck– did I ever say that or imply that at all? All I said was that a sports stadium could be used for something for the Olympics, so Brazil could be more cost-effective.

Yes, you did, actually. Saying that there was better ways to use it is saying that you think preserving wildlife is not a good use.

Guys, there were protesters trying to blow out the flame on the torch...
And I doubt things will get better for Qatar..

Not a good use for a sports stadium.
But enough of this.

I think it is a good use, you said yourself it was built in the middle of a jungle.

LoLz.
I think I agree on both of you, at least the stadium is ´´being used for something´´, protecting those endangered species. However, they built the stadium and they aren´t using it, so it´s a waste of money. They used like $2 Bi to build a stadium for the World Cup, and then, they spent another $2 Bi to build another one for the Olympics... Okey then...
Also, @Quasi-duck, yes, we need to invest more on infrastructure, like roads, however, investing on railways would be better for us, since that way we can transport things countryside faster.

Yes, they tried to that, because in the end, the World Cup and the Olympics are actually being bad for the country.
As for Qatar, I don´t much about the country so I can´t say much about it.

I never said the Olympics were bad, but there so much problems in Brazil at the moment, it wasnt a good idea to hold them. There a lot of poverty,
Why do you think there so many protests? A lot of the Brazilian people were against it being there. They knocked down homes to build the stadiums, people died and now one of the is just a wildlife sanctuary (referring to the stadiums of the world cup)

I love the Olympics, but I find it sad that he stadiums have so many empty seats. When they were in London I would have loved to spectate, but sadly I wasn't able to get tickets. I accepted that, but when I saw all the empty seats I was upset. I did however get to see some of the outdoor events like the cycling and the triathlon, the atmosphere was amazing.
It is great to see ordinary people with outstanding talents competing against the best in the world.
