A. That's your right. But it's because of atheists -- especially those that would openly oppose God and try to corrupt Christians with the sin of non-belief -- that America is under a curse.
B. I don't blame FDR for the war -- entirely -- but I do blame him in playing a key role that led to the war in the first place. Had he been a righteous man (instead of a womanizer and a horrible "great society" liberal) he would have not made the policies that caused the financial collapse of the stock market to become extended into the Great Depression.
It was FDR, not Hoover, that ruined an entire generation with mistakes in the economy. And it was FDR that wanted nothing to do with going to the aid and proactive defense of Austria and Czechoslovakia -- actions which emboldened and empowered Hitler to grow Nazi Germany almost to the point of not being able to be contained during WWII. Only Britain's Neville Chamberlain was worst in that matter. And when Germany invaded Poland, when France and Britain finally declared war on Germany, FDR *STILL* did not do the right thing and join the war effort directly.
No, FDR was no hero. he didn't want to fight the war and it wasn't until we were directly attacked at Pearl Harbor that he was dragged -- begrudgingly -- into doing the right thing.
A: You practically just insulted me for being an atheist after you said it was my right.
B: Hoover was president when the Great Depression started. FDR started the New Deal and started to bring us out of it.
C: There were too many isolationists in America before Pearl Harbor for FDR to do anything drastic.

Guys, let's not turn this into a religious war.

A.) I said you had a right. I did not say it was right. And I was wrong to imply that atheists are solely to blame. It's more the Church's fault because we haven't been faithful when confronted with apostasy within the Church. Thus I apologize to you for that implication. Besides, most agnostics and many atheists are not the real enemy of God because they know not what they do. I would be generous to count you among that group rather than among those who openly oppose God.
B.) Hoover was president when the banking collapse occurred, but the definition of a depression is such that the Great Depression didn't actually occur for several financial quarters. If you understood the difference, you would not have raised that point. But while the Great Depression technically started under F.D.R., a generalized depression was already going to happen because of some minor mistakes that Hoover made when taking the advice of the central banking system and U.S. Treasury (mainly the confiscation of Gold from private ownership).
However, it was F.D.R.'s "Great Society" policies that cemented the depression into the Great Depression and extended an economic situation that would have self-corrected after a few more financial quarters into an earth-shattering crisis that affected much of the planet and lasted for nearly a decade.
It'd be like having Barrack Obama inheriting the so-called "Bush Recession" (which was actually the 2006 Congress's fault) and then making policies that caused the recession to last for the past eight years at nearly-depression levels...oh wait, that's what happened. Well, I guess history repeats itself. F.D.R. blamed Hoover for eight years instead of taking responsibility for his own failings and Obama has spent the last eight years blaming Bush for his [Barack's] own failings.

What once was not true ... now is. Quasi-duck is correct. THAT's a major part of why we are under a curse. But that is the symptom, not the cause.

Look, if you guys really are "cursed" then the Nordic countries must be cursed to Hell. Oh wait, they seem to be doing great....
I don't even see how the US is cursed.

We as a nation, the United States of America, is functioning as well as we can under a curse from God. That curse is punishment for falling away -- corporately -- from a unified faith in Him. And since I don't believe we will return to a right faith in God as a nation, I believe we are doomed as a nation.
What once was a glorious and "shining city on a hill", America, has become a den of evildoers and wickedness. God help the remnant of Christians that remain in her. For America the bold has become a shame before God.
I don't think it's a curse, personally. It's His plan, and we have to go forwards with whatever He puts out for us... Remember His hand is on everything, and it is His will that Donald Trump is the Republican nominee and Hillary Clinton's the Democrat nominee.

I should've known this would happen. You cannot talk about American politics without:
A) Starting a religious war. I'm not atheist, but i don't think God gives a s@!# about who's president.
B) Starting a racial war, which has 100% more potential to turn violent IRL. Thankfully this has not happened here. Yet.
It seems no place is immune to this.

Obviously God does care about who is president, and the American people must have done something terribly wrong to have such a horrible selection of candidates. The best we can have is Trump, who won't let Muslim suicide bombers just fly in through public airports. I'm not saying all Muslims are cruel, but at this time, you can't be to safe.

Lol, what about Allah, Yahweh, Buddha, Amaterasu-Ō-Mi-Kami, and Flying Spaghetti Monster? What about their plans for the US?

For me, nothing, because they don't exist anymore than Thor or Zeus, but if they do, Allah means nothing good. He hasn't for any nations for the last 1500 years. Now stop fighting, it is not right to anybodies religion.

well said @Diabolical. Whether you believe ornot in God, the truth is there. It can be hidden or disguised, but its there. Lies don't go very far without anyone noticing it. WWII saved FDR. He was a failing president up until that point. It is what saved the US from the Great Depression. As to Pearl Harbor, did he or did he not know of that attack? Many say he did, some say we all had no clue.

Last I checked, the Islamic Caliphate fell after WW1.

There were suspicions about the attack, but no real proof. Also, American intelligence was in it's infancy at the time. Heck, I think the OSS only started after America joined WW2. We were also having peace talks with Japan.

The Islamic Caliphate was the 'empire' for Muslims. It was pretty much the Ottoman Empire. Since the Ottoman Empire dissolved after WW1, Islam fell into a state of disarray and disputes between the sects of Islam has created the horror that is the Middle East today.
