Turkey was a bit of a neutral mediator between both sides, just today with them trying to play NATO and Russia. But the Soviets were quite aggressive, eyeing up the Bosphorus canal for their Black Sea fleet. Turkey, threatened would end up joining NATO quite early on. The Soviets hated this because the Baltic Sea could already be cut off by NATO Denmark and Norway, alone with a neutral but in reality more NATO friendly Sweden and Finland (they definitely liked NATO more) with Pro-western Japan and US Alaska, Norway and the UK providing a bulwark against the northern fleet, the USSR was able to be cut off at all points. Once Turkey joined NATO they had a severe naval disadvantage.

If you are the allies wouldn’t you want to take the ships from the enemy fleet for yourself? Or at least some of them. It’s far cheaper than building new ones. Guess they couldn’t afford it and didn’t have the manpower. Plus I’m sure the writing on your ships being in German, Austrian or Ottoman Turkish wouldn’t be easy… At the very least make them museums and use them as propaganda to show the glory of the empire or somethingLord Crayfish wrote:

I'll take Canada. I'm back but between the 23rd and 29th, my participation might be limited but I still intend to join. I have already messaged Brando about that matter.

That shouldn’t be a problem. Since you’ll be Canada you won’t be in the thick of it and only require limited participation, in comparison to other countries.
