Service member appreciation thread

Hey! So I wanted to create this thread to recognize members of the forums who are also members of militaries around the globe. So if anyone is, please do say so, so that we can honor your service! It's sad I must say this but, please do not commit Stolen Valor. (and similar laws that exist for other countries)

Myself personally plans on joining the United States Army, where I want to become part of the Army's MP! (Military Police) I'm currently 16, so obviously I won't be able to join until I turn 17!

I think this can be a great thread for people to honor veterans around the globe and also express their desire to join!

I don't think there are many vets here.

I don't want to be a soldier, but I respect those who are.

I myself am not a Vet, but my Grandfather had 10 brothers who all joined in the Armed Forces, most notably my Uncle Terry who served in Vietnam for a year and my Uncle Timmy who went around the world with the Air force. My Grandfather didn't serve because his Trigger Finger was lost in a Motorcycle accident, and thus the Army wouldn't accept him.

Russian bias? I think you mean Russian fact, Comrade!

[/quote]That's awesome! My great grandfather served in WWII. He was a rifleman in Italy! He was apart of the Allied Invasion of Italy, where he took a piece of shrapnel to the knee from the tank shell. He returned home and recieved his Purple Heart! He passed away about a year ago now, but I loved listening to his old war stories!

That sounds awesome(the story). I would have loved to have had a relative I could talk to about that.
