Strategic Bombers

I would also like to point out something about strategic bombers. Granted, 90% of the time they targeted industrial/manufacturing areas. However, that other 10% of time is what I would like to point out a few facts about. During D-Day, there was turmoil in Bomber Command due to the fact that the Army wanted to have the bomber force target specific military targets and troop concentrations. The army won and got its bombers. There is a little know incident that did result from strategic bombers targeting enemy concentrations. A flight of bombers were to over-fly friendly lines and bomb a German troop formation/defensive position. However, the bombers dropped their bombs too soon and they hit friendly positions. About or just over 100 American GI's were killed (if you have been in the military you know, Covering fire doesn't and there is no such thing as friendly fire). Because of this incident, whenever strategic or tactical bombers were used to bomb enemy positions, they were required to move to target parallel to friendly lines.

I say that because strategic bombing played such a major part in WWII (over 200,000 airmen were killed the the strategic air campaign) that I would like to see the role of strategic bombers tweeked a bit to allow for the concentrated bombing of military targets. Also, just like in WWII, I would like to see strategic bombing play more of an ecomomical role (granted I have only been playing for about 12 days now and have not had the chance to utilize strategic bombers so I do not know first hand the impact they have on the economy of an enemy or myself for that matter).

I think they should be allowed to bomb enemy concetrations/military targets and appreciate you comments. both positive and negative.
