The Final Goodbye from GrandEmpire

Hello everyone! This is a final message From Grand Empire, as I have been permanently banned simply because I’m too good (am not serious). I have been shadowing the forum as a guest, which I believe is allowed. Firstly, I would like to say I hold nothing against the ban, and can guess I was banned for the “revenge post” which wasn’t really serious. I hold nothing against the mods and agree and respect them and their decisions. I have one wish though, do not compare me to comrade genz! Have had a great time on the forum, posted first rate (by which I mean saying mumbo jumbo I called “strategy”) guides, made some cool friends, and of course, got banned (not so great).

I wanted to thank everyone, even the mods who banned me, and hope the forum becomes a happier place (hopefully it becomes happier without having anything to do with my leaving!). I would like to apologise to anyone offended, hurt or insulted by me, or anything I may have done against the rules. And also, I wanted to ask the mods to get Karl to keep on posting my ongoing Demi World series, as I do not see any harm in it. Of course, I would like to say a final goodbye to the forum and its crew! Here are some direct goodbyes:

@whowh : cannot remember where we met- but what matters is that we are friends. You always stood by me and were nice to me. Gave me a shock when I found out you were female (imagined you as a 17 yr old dude with white hair for some reason). Anyways, goodbye from me, have fun and play HOI4 uh I mean Call of War! Also this doesn’t have to be a final goodbye if you get discord! Title granted: Whowh the Friend nickname/s: Remy, Whowh, lots more

@Claudio von Pan: My main man Karl’s been telling me your calling him pathetic and insulting him… don’t become Genz 2.0 or I will rise from the dead just to strike you down (or preferably just call BMFOx) Title granted: Genz 2.0 nickname: claudio

@K.Rokossovski : arguabely my favourite Forum user. Lies in the shadows and rises at the perfect times. Is a genius, I imagine he is a god at CoW. Good criticsm, when I first saw him I thought he was a mean person, but he is the opposite! I may have missed some of you, but to all of you, Thanks for simply being there, posting a single reply, maybe engaging in conversation, anything to make me spend some more time on the Forum. And if you learned something from me, do please ask a mod to make sure its not wrong!! Hopefully you will remember me because I wont remember you (just kidding). Special shout out to Karl, Whowh and KriegMaker. My opinion may not have much value anymore... but a mod saying he banned him and then saying he's got "nothing against him" seems off to me. You're becoming a little dictator of your petty little ground here, deciding what threads to close and who to ban and when it feels good to enforce your powers on whatever you feel like at any particular morning... please don't pretend you feel sorry for what you are doing.

While I wouldn't go as far as you guys are going, I do agree that Grand should not have been banned.

If you have a complaint about a member of the support staff, please either contact the SMODs (if the complaint is about a mod) or Akiar or Slyx (if the complaint is about a Game Operator). Do not discuss it here please.

Everyone's opinion matters, you have been around a long time. Grand Empire was convinced that I had something against him. Even if it wasn't me but another mod, I got the blame. It's just a joke, let's not be too serious OK.

Please don't judge when you don't know the full history and you are not aware of all the facts.

Deciding who to ban is not playing on a "petty little ground". You have to know the rules but also interpret them and work even outside their scope, as they aren't sufficient to cover all the ways you could disrupt the forum or chat. Warnings are issued in private as far as I'm aware, so neither I nor you know all the aspects.

And let's be honest, Grand was sometimes unable to control his emotions and often offended other users, intentionally or not. That's also why I think Claudio did the right thing by calming down and forgetting about it... taking everything in such a community personal would be pointless, and if it was Grand, I think there is no reason to really take it seriously (I don't think he wanted to offend Claudio this hard anyway, it's just his nature).

You've been around for much longer I know, and your opinion matters more than mine, but the forum and chat is a kind of community where all the social patterns repeat. So overall experience with this kind of community gives you the ability to see the root of its problems. Some people will stay for one month and find it, some for 6 months and won't see it. Everyone's opinion has a weight, not just the mods' and that of the veterans...

I find it funny how BMfox claims everyone's opinion to matter and then proceeds with what could be used as reasoning why yours doesn't. :D

If you have above 10k manpower, you're not investing properly. A good player never has many resources.
Larger armies destroy enemies faster without taking damage from them.
Build only: 1 military building in each city, airstrips, and recruiting stations to boost manpower.
Minimize research, 2 unit types early, 6 types in late game. Upgrade old units, but: artillery lv1 to lv2 is a waste, only lv1 to lv4 is worth it.

Dearly Beloved, GrandEmpire has this to say about his goodbye post:

"Guys read the post, i never insulted him. He (Claudio) called Karl Pathetic and i told him to stop offending Karl. Please properly read before commenting on my "insult" when it wasnt one. "

(To be honest i was less offended and more frustrated with the nature of his posts being Empty in body ie dosent add anything worthwhile to a topic and mostly attacks me)

I didn't call him pathetic, I called missing a banned person pathetic, because of his posts, if I weren't too lazy, I would give some proof. Calling Karl pathetic made no sense to me, I had nothing against him.

This stuff is complicated, there is often a bitterness (dunno what word to use here) that players have to mods, which I believe is acceptable, since mods enforce a lot of rules and it’d hard to tell exactly how they should do that. I generally think that they are pretty cool and are trying to do their best. However, don’t think much of this I am not trying to express strong opinion or anything! :)
