No, Americans live paycheck to paycheck and don’t have the skill or time to cook decent food at all. Not a full choice… like millions of children often need to get by school lunches as their only meal on weekdays with that fast food elsewise.

Have you seen the cost of fast food now? It's not even cheap anymore. Many Americans just don't have the will to put in the effort to eat healthier, but the option is certainly there, and not as expensive as it may seem. Even something like buying an apple and eating it goes a long way. You're telling me that takes too long to prep? People in the eastern bloc may not have even had consistent access to someplace they could get an apple.
