From what I can tell (I didn't read it) they're having an in-depth discussion about what France did in Indonesia.

P.S. You may want to change your signature... the Ottoman Empire isn't something I think we should bring glory to.

What are you talking about? The Ottomans did nothing wrong
Glory to the Ottoman Empire!

Christianity in the Ottoman Empire - Wikipedia

“Ottoman conquerors pursued a harsh and brutal policy of forced expropriation of the peasants' land. In the beginning of the 16th century, almost all the Arab countries were subjugated by the Turks and incorporated in the Ottoman state. In 1514, Sultan Selim I (the Cruel) led the Turkish army to conquer northern Iraq.Dec 22, 2019”

HISTORY: The Ottoman's dark and oppressive role in the Arab lands

https://nzhistory.govt.nz/war/ottoman-empire/background

“The Young Turks championed not only the idea of Turkish nationalism within the Ottoman Empire but also ‘pan-Turkic’ ideals – the ‘reunification’ of the ethnically or culturally related ‘Turkic′ populations of the Caucasus and Central Asia under Ottoman rule. This stance – and its explicit elevation of Turkish identity above all others – was at odds with the realities of a multinational empire and served only to inflame age-old ethnic and religious tensions between the various Ottoman subject peoples.“

90% of this occurred under the Young Turks

The real Ottomans treated their people well by the standards of the time.

Still shit, but not uncommon considering the age. China subjugated their neighbors, Europe wiped out half the world, and India had its caste systems. Not a big suprise the ottomans did some squalid shit as well lol.

Everyone did. Even countries like Palau and Equatorial Guinea had some form of subjugation. You can't deny it.

Facts. You can like historical countries (to an extent) but you have to accept their history. Denying not only repeats the mistakes blah blah blah, but is just cringe.
