Tsunderes or Yanderes?

I prefer tsundere, to be honest. Yanderes creep me the hell out. If I ever find a yandere wanting to kill me because his crush has some feelings for me, I'd be ready to tackle him and tell his crush to back the hell up before I tear them a new one.

My favourite tsundere characters are:

England, Arthur Kirkland(Hetalia)

South Italy/Romano, Lovino Vargas(Hetalia)

Aoyama Nanami(Pet girl of Sakurasou)Is she a tsundere? I don't know.

Taiga Aisaka(Toradora)

Tell me what you think, which character type you like better and what are your favourites.

Some of my favorite characters are yandere.

They really do make the shows they are in.

Katsura (School Days)

Yuno (Future Diary)

Lucy (Elfen Lied)

Three of the best.

What on Earth are you guys on about?

What could be helpful is a definition and a more mainstream example (or going on tvtropes, that works too)

Are you guys bloody serious? There are not many Anime fans in Call of War are there, for god's sake.

Fine.

A Tsundere character is the type who would be very sensitive about his or her personal space. A typical tsundere is foul-mouthed, easily angered and dishonest about one's self. The term, 'tsundere' is derived from the Japanese word, 'Tsun-Tsun', summarised in English means, 'Shun'. Basically, it means shunning away something or someone. Now to the 'dere' part, which has a different meaning altogether. It revolves around one's personal feelings towards another individual. This part of a Tsundere usually opens up whenever a 'special' individual comes along. The Tsundere character in question will begin to realise his/her feelings towards that individual and will eventually open up and to the point. So when you watch an anime where a Tsundere is present, you will frequently see sentences like this, "I-It's not like I dressed like this for you or anything!.....", probably followed by a punch. And yeah, you will see some punches and kicks. To sum it up, a Tsundere is a character who is tough outside, soft inside.

That, my friends, is a Tsundere. I've listed examples at the start of this thread, which again are my favourite Tsundere characters.

Now.... Yandere.... The scariest of the scary.... The freakiest of the freaky.... Some say that Attila the Hun was resurrected....

A Yandere is the exact opposite of a Tsundere, and yes, creepier. A Yandere is basically soft outside, tough inside. As you can see the dere part is present in the term 'Yandere', which also means this character type is revolved around love too. However, the 'Yan' part..... A typical Yandere would be lovable and looks innocent, however, when he/she falls in love, you can expect heads rolling, literally! When a Yandere falls in love, they will do everything they can to keep their crush. And this will most likely be involving the murder of an individual. When they think they will lose their crush either by losing to someone else or by the danger of being targetted, they will resort to using their arsenal of weapons. Therefore, Yandere characters are often associated with Horror Anime. Oh, and did I forget to mention that they will end up killing their own crush themselves? Stupid reason I know, apparently, it is to prevent them from falling to someone else.

Examples are at the first reply to this thread, or second post whichever you would call it, and a photo as well to demonstrate a Yandere character.

Unnecessarily in depth explanation but oh well. Can't go too wrong would it? I'm the undisputed literary genius in my class. Couldn't help it :P

Here are pictures to demonstrate the 2 Characters

I would probably have to say I prefer Tsunderes then but Yanderes can be funny.

What exactly is the context of this question? Are you asking which I like the idea of more, which I'd rather date, something else?

In any case, it'll most likely be Tsundere for me.

Russian bias? I think you mean Russian fact, Comrade!
