What do you HATE most about contemporary music?

What a ridiculous question! Contemporary music today covers the widest range of styles and forms than at any time of music history. There is no one type of 'contemporary music'; there are DOZENS. Your question renders itself null and void.

It's not a ridiculous question, I've come across LARGE amounts of people that absolutely hate it, including online. I want to know Why?? instrumental ringtones

You probably mean mainstream/pop music by contemporary. Compared to the 80s e.g,lyrics aren,t worse/better , though the instrumental part has become rather bland, lacking complexity , a bit dependant on mixing/effects/visuals. Regarding themes, there isn,t much innovation anymore and we see the. same ideas repeated over and over (and not necessarily refined over the years ;see One Direction/ Backstreet Boys.) There are some exceptions, but they won,t ever be in the mainstream unless the song is truly amazing.

As a musician myself the problem I find with today's music, and by this I mean what is considered popular music today, is that not much 'music' actually goes into it, lol, allow me to explain.

30 years ago we didn't have the software, computers, auto tuners ect. that generate a large percentage of what you hear on the radio today. It wasn't one person programming a symphony piece on his laptop. People had to come into the studio to record and compose music for days on end. For me personally if you don't play some sort of instrument and compose with it you are not a musician, an artist\entertainer maybe but if your instrument is a computer don't insult real musicians.

Don't even get me started on the content, you can't even make out what is being said by some of these so called artists and if you could you probably wouldn't be interested in whats being said anyway. A large majority of it is simply retarded and why it relates so much to our younger generations is beyond me. Maybe I'm just getting old but in retrospect I enjoyed the music that my parents listened to and my grandparents as well for that matter. This generation would kick The Beatles or Elvis off the stage!

I think to answer the OC's question though what I dislike the most about today's music is that I feel more stupid after listening to it.

The REAL problem is that the radio plays the same pop songs over and over, and never goes into any "proper" modern music.

How often have you heard The Black Angels, Cool Kids of Death, Wavves, Blood Red Shoes, on the radio? They are all modern bands, and pretty good. You just don't hear them because "no one else knows real music".
