What is your favourite war song?

Sabaton is a Swedish heavy metal band that creates songs about historical war events.

I especially like their song "The Art of War":

[Spoken Intro]

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles

If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat

If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle

[Verse 1]

I stand alone

And gaze upon the battlefield

Wasteland

Is all that's left after the fight

And now I'm searching a new way to defeat my enemy

Bloodshed

I've seen enough of death and pain

[Chorus]

I will run - they will hunt me in vain

I will hide - they'll be searching

I'll regroup - feign retreat they'll pursue

Coup de grâce

I will win but never fight

[Refrain]

That's the Art of War!

That's the Art of war!

[Verse 2]

Breaking the will to fight among the enemy

Force them to hunt me

They will play my game

And play by my rules

I will be close but still untouchable

No more will I see suffering and pain

[Chorus]

They will find me no more

I'll be gone

I will have them surrounded

They will yield without fight overrun

Coup de grâce

I will win but never fight

[Refrain]

That's the Art of War!

That's the Art of War!

[Bridge]

Broken and lost

Tired of war

They'll surrender to me

Caught in my trap

There's no way out

Fail never again (never again)

[Chorus]

I will run - they will hunt me in vain

I will hide - they'll be searching

I'll regroup - feign retreat they'll pursue

Coup de grâce

I will win but never fight

[Refrain]

That's the Art of War!

That's the Art of war!

That's the Art of war!

That's the Art of war!

[Spoken Outro]

Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence

Supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting

I'd prefer "marching song" but here's mine anyway:

Kyrie Eleison

Disturbed – The Sound Of Silence (CYRIL Remix

Many consider songs like "Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel as impactful war songs, capturing sentiments and experiences associated with war.

Two Steps From Hell - Victory

Not a war song per say, but, L'Agresseur by Shiro Sagisu.

It is absolutely perfect for the stressful situation that 'defending from an incoming attack you just got online for' is.

I will take issue with you on all of that. While you might argue that it is a "war song" it is also a national anthem, it was written during the War of 1812 when the UK [i]invaded and attacked the US. Which brings me to the major objection of your post, other than the Invasion of Iraq tell me a war in the 250 year history of the US where[/i]

What a load of false crap!!!

Prior to 1812 the founding states were a colony that rebelled ffs. They werent invaded and attacked by the UK, the UK was defending its interest. As usual more junk by Americans. Seems by your logic Mr Smidt it is ok for the US to attack everybody else when it suits you and defend the indefensible but when on the other foot it is oh oh weve been attacked - gosh!

Let's put it another way, the US only comes into larger conflicts to join the winning side. It only joins conflicts to make money. Examples WWI, WWII, Israel, Iraq etc. Oh and dont mention Lockerbie. It has always been transactional. Always will be Trump or no Trump. That's the way it sees the world.

I wont be around but I will love it when China kicks the US right up the **** and in the nuts as well. No wonder half the world hates the US. It has no moral compass just money, power, greed. And so it goes on.

What post specifically are you referring to?

Come to think of it, I myself have not introduced my favorite songs.

May I also list some of my favorite songs?

Tanks go to battle
