No it's not. It is an automatic carbine using pistol ammunition. You do know that the assault rifle was made in WWII as well, after the SMG's, right?

Yea.. no

You are right that it uses Usually pistol ammo, of 9mm... but it is a bridge between machine pistols and rifles...

its range is superior to Machine pistols, and although is usually just short of the Assault rifles...

I love you think you know more than everyone else, while you talk about basic points... yes we all know that the Germans made the first Assault Rifle.. congrats...

The PPSH-41 Was a Sub machine gun, not a pistol..

Unlike you I have sources..

Wikipedia is a good tool, but its not always very accurate.. so if you need a source, that can be a back up to 2 or 3 other sources..

Can use it to cross reference..

Your ignorance astounds me...... Especially since you shortened machine pistol to pistol for brevity, which was a moronic idea....

I gave you a source, a book by a WWII expert from Germany. Note, I never said the Germans made the first assault rifle either, I just said it was from WWII. In fact, you make yourself look silly as you call assault rifles both assault rifles and rifles, while they are different things, and call machine pistols pistols, which is wrong again.

Good operation of the Reds. Germany's error was attacking the USSR, they simply did not have enough men.

Market Garden was a bad operation carried out by the allies.

It was not, the M1 Carbine is. The M4 carbine is an assault rifle, no? An assault rifle is a fully automatic selective-fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine.
