I want to learn about new battles that perhaps I don't know about, but will find interesting and this is a reason I created this little survey.
There was a lot of battles fought throughout the history and some battles are still being fought to this day. Which of those battles did you find the most intresting. Why?

and I agreed with you? Don't pull a Hoffman.qwerty1mil wrote:
If that is the case then you would know that the second Anglo-Maratha war was by no means a forgone conclusion, that the British could have easily been beaten. Assaye was the tipping point, a defeat there would have seen the whole of Southern India open for the Maratha Princes.A question was asked, i simply stated my view, which just happened to not include well documented battles of WW2.
Well agreeing without overtly agreeing.comrade dave wrote:

Pretty much I guess.
In order from good to better.
D-Day was an amazing op, and the following days turned out to be amazing.
The Six Day War is simply the best war. Israel took on 4 countries, and won. The military intelligence and sabotage involved there was amazing.
I've always liked more ancient Roman stuff and then modern day stuff. My favourite ancient battle is the Battle of Thermopylae, where outnumber Spartan soldiers defeated a much larger and stronger Persian force. My favourite modern-day fight is Operation Torch, I didn't call it a battle because it wasn't, but just the fact that Anglo-American forces landed in Africa at three points and then liberated it within a couple months is amazing. I also didn't know about it until April probably, so yeah.
AAAAAAHHHHHH! I FORGOT ABOUT THIS! I WANNA CHANGE! Like Pablo said, little Israel taking on Transjordan, Lebanon, Syria, (kinda Palestine), and Egypt and freaking winning. Crazy stuff there.Pablo22510 wrote:

Pretty much the Arab-Israeli wars then. Apart from the 1948 war when Israel got it's ass handed to it.
I know right?purplepizza117 wrote:

The Battle of Spotsylvania Court House. I just loved John Sedgwick's last words before a Confederate Sniper took his live.

His final words were in regards to his Soldiers ducking in cover from Confederate Sharpshooters. He laughed and said "They couldn't hit a elephant from this distance" moments later he was shot clean through the head by said sharpshooters.

LOL that is kinda hilarious.
hahahaha, what a fail!
The First Siege of Kruje in 1450
When the Ottoman Army came with 160000 soliders to Attack Albania with 12400 soliders
The Albanian Army won.

I'd say Kursk and the battle for Berlin.

Kursk was amazing on paper, not so much in person...
Yeah. Another great battle was Talavera. Spanish and British forces against the French. Wellesley kicked the Frenchies' ass.
If you want to put one over us 'Ritish Pedro look at the siege of Badajoz, we still one but to a cost.
Nah, I was just emphasising that we've fought together too. Wellington was actually a great friend of a Spanish general called Alava.
