Good to all, my name is Jack, today I bring an interesting topic .Which was the best army of the Second World war?
In my opinion the best army of the Second World war was the Army of the USA and the British army, the prowesses realized by the American Army I surprise greatly, but what more I value, is the British resistance opposite to the German Army, the great resistance and dedication that the British soldiers did for a free and democratic Europe,it is for this motive, that in my opinion for me, the best army of the Second World war was the British Army.

And for you, which was is he the best army of the Second World war?

Why does the pic say it is a super heavy? Pretty sure it is just a tank destroyer.
It has massive armor 305mm, 8mph, 500hp, 5.8ph/tonne only two were built for more info check out the smaller t28 TD or t28 soviet med tank
Oh, wait. I'm thinking of an older T-95 designation.
I think you mean the UK added the bigger gun to Sherman Tanks making the firefly, I try to avoid measurements in gun calibers because I think I get them mixed up but I think the M4 Sherman default is a 75mm gun and the UK upgraded the ones they got ahold of with I think 7 Pounder guns from heavier tank models they had. Im not sure so this is in part a question lol.qwokadile wrote:
The best country is Switzerland it sits in the middle.Plus US only added a bigger gun thus the Firefly is born
the Sherman was an average tank mass produced unlike the Panzer 4 which was a good tank with less production
Tiger and Koingtiger are the same, USSR had the best armor to counter the Germans UK had the best armor for Africa mostly the valentine, but they Commonwealth helped uk too, the ANZAC corp was effective and easy to maintain.
The M4 had a 75mm, the Firefly had a 17 pounder. I think those are 76.2mm. Definitely 76mm.
Wow is that a dual tread design on each side?! That thing must be heavy as crap to need so much traction.qwokadile wrote:

100 tons. Lots of tanks have four tracks.
Well Bill I was close lol, I had a feeling "7" was involved, im not good with remembering the calibers of guns lol.
Lol, I'm usually good with them.
I don't see enough pics of tanks then lol, I think that may the first 4 tread tank ive seen aside from the Scorpions in Halo lolButter Ball Bill wrote:

Don't know what this proto is called.
That is a beautiful tank.
Oh and to keep on topic and the mods from shutting us down, I think the US is overall the best Army of WW2.
No US gave themselves to japan they said here's our biggest naval fleet dig in.
Japan is the best army because they started the war after they invaded Manchuria 1931 sept 18, they were the last Axis army, and proved that their location was a perfect tactical location, USA needed to nuke them to weaken them.
Plus it looks like and IS-4 mixed with a IDK...Butter Ball Bill wrote:

The US did have a "Europe First" policy because of Great Britain, but I will not deny Japan being an island really kept them alive, as well as outclassing even the SS in fanaticism
Has anyone mentioned the Swiss? They didn't have the best equipment, but there's a reason the Germans didn't invade them, and I doubt it was just because they didn't get around to it, because they got around to just about everyone else. They also managed to mobilize their entire army in just 3 days. In addition to their regular army, the Swiss also had a large militia.
The Swiss plan if Germans invaded was to basically move the entire army into forts in the alps. There they would keep enough supplies to hold out for a very long time. The Germans would have trouble using some of their equipment (tanks) in that terrain, and the Swiss could possibly hold out against German forces. They wouldn't have been able to defeat Germany, but they may have been able to defend their own country.
Swiss also planned to blow up infrastructure and such to slow the Germans even more. They knew they couldn't win, but I applaud them in giving the krauts a tough fight
