Copying Butter Ball Bill's idea of the prettiest plane of all times, I bring up the topic of your favourite military commander. No time limits. Only requirement is that he/she actually existes/exists.
Having said all of that, I would go for Patton.

If I remember Zhukov was the kind of General that didn't waste his forces in blind open attacks.
As for you Pablo, Montgomery was ridiculously egotistical meaning nobody would get on with him but his carefully planned and coordinated offensives, if done right would work like clockwork, if not we get the Caen effect.
To be honest mate, he carried out D-Day very well, but from then on he was complete bulldust. And El Alamein was wonbecause of sheer numbers and because Rommel had no gasoline for his tanks.comrade dave wrote:

Forgot to include
Douglas MacArthur

Great general except for the fact he wanted to nuke Korea and Chinakingjoe1077 wrote:

As Antony Beevor puts it "MacAuthur rode the wave of success but wouldn't get off" Montgomery got stuck in his spot in Normandy tying down SS divisions while the Americans broke out he was the paperweight so to speak.
Well, the Americans didn't break out until more or less at the same time as Monty. The Germans put up some tough resistance in the bocage. I don't like Monty, but I love Dempsey, btw.comrade dave wrote:

P.S. Lol, couldn't agree more with Antony. Call him by first name 'cos we know each other. Been to his house and stayed there for a while. He knows how to speak perfect Spanish.
I doubt you personally know Antony Beevor. The Americans broke out around the same time because Cobra and Charnwood were simultaneous.
I honestly do! Been to his house in Scotland!comrade dave wrote:

Do you have a picture.
Yes, but I'm not showing you. My mum inisisted on me appearing in all of the pictures my Antony, and the only pictures I topk were of the landscape.
So you've never met him then. Good joke.
I swear I have!
Honestly, there's no point in me lying.
*Puts fingers in ears* Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala!
Ok, you won't listen. But I swear I've met Beevor (although I've only read one of his books).
You might have met him but I doubt you've been to his house. Or he's met you in Spain.
I swear, I've been with him at his country house in Scotland. Walked quite a lot and talked.
No you haven't.
I swear I have! Why don't you believe it?
No proof, highly illogical a historian with a busy schedule would talk to a weird Spanish child...
