Taking over the Forum 1 post at a time.
Copying Butter Ball Bill's idea of the prettiest plane of all times, I bring up the topic of your favourite military commander. No time limits. Only requirement is that he/she actually existes/exists.
Having said all of that, I would go for Patton.

I am not weird, and he spends most of his time there. Plus, he wasn't there to meet me, he was there to meet a brother of my grandfather, but since I know about WW2, we talked a bit.comrade dave wrote:
No proof, highly illogical a historian with a busy schedule would talk to a weird Spanish child...
It's not on Google, mate!Ellio_98 wrote:

Do you have proof?
There are some people out there that just wont budge when you try to convincing them of something.

Like me.
Robert E Lee of the CSA,
King Charles XII of Sweden,
King Leonidas of Sparta,
Alexander the Great of Macedon,
Hannibal of Carthage,
Władysław Raginis of Poland,
Simply too many great leaders to choose from!

My Favourite, hands down is Field Marshal Sir Bernard L. Montgomery. He was an amazingly talented military mind, and indeed defeated Rommel, who himself is owed much credit.

Why does everyone hate Monty?
I do. Everyone else doesn't.
He's just jelly asf
(Joke) I think Monty was one of the best.
Why does Pablo hate Monty?
I don't actually know, probably all that U.S propaganda his head is chock full of.
OMFG! I am not under the effect of propaganda. In Europe, most people hate America (stupidly)! I am the only one in my family who thinks the U.S. is the one who protects Europe, the only one who thinks they're good. And I go online and watch less TV than most of my family!comrade dave wrote:

I don't like him because he sparked a lot of controversy, he foiled up Operation Market-Garden (although the worst guy in Market Garden was Lt. General Browning) and El Alamein was a battle that had been won even before it started. He was highly egocentrical, no other general liked him, and although he did pretty well at Normandy and at Caen, I think, like a British amry captain put it, the figure of Monty was created because the British didn't have any icon general. The Americans had Patton and Eisenhower. I think British propaganda would have obtained better results from General Sir Miles Dempsey, for example.
You've said this already, but he didn't mess up Market Garden, it was too daring for his own good.Pablo22510 wrote:
