100 player map: moving capitol to conquered areas to boost morale questions.
•
Is it a good idea to move your capitol to a conquered area in order to boost morale, for example moving it from your core to Saudia Arabia to help with production via an increase in morale?
What are the pros and cons of moving your capitol out of your core?

1) In general, probably not, you lose too much production in your cores.
2) Saudia Arabia is not a centralized area of the map. So with a large empire you would probably also lose production in non-cores.
3) You need to get morale in the conquered provinces to 30 and (stable or rising). You can do that with troops holding the province till it gets there. You can build infrastructure and/or fortifications if needed. Usually using troops works best most of the time. With large empires, sometimes infrastructure or fortifications are needed to get morale to 30 and stable. Their is a thread on morale that give the amount of attack points that you need to have zero risk of rebellion. Remember that armor's attack points are halved in urban areas.

Bad Idea. I have tried it, and I will never again move my capital away from my home continent on the 100 player map.
My previous rule of thumb was no more than 1 day's distance away from my core. I have not experimented with further distances than that since the implementation of the morale bonus for infrastructure.

I have moved my capital from american to paris on 100 player map, but this was planned well ahead and I had built lvl5 forts all over core in important places.
This was before infra update. So the results would be even better now.
