1949 Spam?

It’s a RP we are planning. It’s quite a big operation so we’ve had to make many threads for it. I think like 12 people are involved in this so it makes sense.

Would discord be a better place for some of the conversations?

We had a vote and most people decided to do all discussion on the forum.

I was about to make a thread on this.

It is getting extremely irritating to see hundreds of threads in the same topic, most of the new posts and hot threads have been controlled by the same topic, each and every small thing is getting a separate thread. Hard to figure which is which.

Instead of Unnecessaryily spamming people, why don’t you use 1 or 2 specific threads. Or even a forum conversation.

That’s what we’ve been trying to do. There shouldn’t be any more threads made or used, eventually all that will be used if an announcement thread and one for chit chat that already exists.

I'm annoyed by most of the vapid posts on this forum, but threads that are actually related to an upcoming game of forum players seems completely appropriate. This thread, less so.

There’s a different thread for applications, tens of threads for each and every poll, what is this!? Everything is lost.

It's really not so much the new threads, it's unread posts. Certain people can't control themselves and have to post on 50 threads a day, making us all suffer the consequences.

Guys no offense, but just use conversations, I get for polls and all, but just ask each person to respond with a choice manually (I have no idea if polls are there in conversations or not tbh)

Yes we’ve been doing that for the vast majority of things. Just put the most important issues to a vote, for the most part.

Me and the other “mods” of the RP are holding a private convo to discuss the rules and all that good stuff, but unfortunately we can’t make a convo for the whole thing, as the Forum has a 10 person max in convos, and we have like 16 total players in the RP. Also, the forum will only let you create a Poll by starting a new thread, i.e. you can make one in a reply. I can assure you that we are not creating any more threads than what is necessary.

Firstly, what I’d say is that this is the first major RP this forum has done in a long while, so a lot of activity is required to make it run smoothly.

Secondly, as others have said, there are private conversations for this, and we have spent days working out how to do this in the most efficient way possible. If we hadn’t put this effort in, there would be far more threads than there are.

Also, to be honest, if you’re not interested in it, just ignore it. It doesn’t hurt you, and whatever ‘unread threads’ will just tick along in the background.

Finally, you’ll be glad to hear that there shouldn’t be any new threads on this, as we are starting the RP today in a few hours actually. The only active ones should be the ‘chit-chat’ thread and the ‘rules & newspapers thread’ - I will actively encourage everyone participating to avoid making new posts on any other threads relating to this topic.
