I have seen a few players do, this but what is the secret?
So you go to all the AIs and request one or the other. But that for me yields hardly any results. I get do it at the outset (before you attack anyone) but still pretty useless.
Not sure it shouldnt be banned as it gives some players a tremendous advantage particularly if they gold and heal like mad which is highly associated with this practice I notice. They also tend to be total our souls as well.
by having thse friendly relations with AIs you can improve your reputation with them.
rep lowers whenever you start a war or take agressive actions.
by keeping your rep higher you can keep the markets open for longer and delay AIs attacking you.
I understand the reputation part now. But what about requesting maps and right of way specifically? Is there an optimal way or timing to request these from all AIs to get the maximum benefit?
So keeping good relations with the AIs is mainly useful for slowing down their aggression and keeping the markets open.
