Air combat

Question

I had 2 lvl 3 interceptors patrolling. I saw 10 lvl 2 enemy interceptors approaching me (their attack range said 2minutes away.

Being out muscled I turned to head away from them to an airport out of their range. The clock kept ticking though and they caught me.

The angle of their attack seemed to be at my 7 (or almost directly behind me.

1. My interceptors being a level up should have been faster how did they catch me?

2. When attack is selected does pursuit not matter? They will catch the target no matter what?

3. Is this a bug?

I have another question. Enemy planes are patrolling, my planes stand on patrol in radius of his planes. After more than 30 minutes, I lose my planes, but he is not, why?

I am trying to attack a specific planes, get response from all the enemies on patrol apparently :(

How better to shoot down planes that are on patrol earlier you ?

There is a detailed guide on air combat?

Thank you )

Man this game is stupid no sense . I have 30 tactical bobmer and i deal with this 30 bobmers just 5 hp damage on 1 militia but enemy with 3 bobmers deal 8 hp damage on my light tank . My and enemy bobmers are lvl2 so this so stupid no sense at all .

You're right, that does seem like the aircraft should have managed to get back safe. It has been noted that if within a minute or two of engagement, a combat can still occur.

Aircraft will pursue/track their targets as long as they're in range, so it may be that the fixed attack timer didn't take into account an increase in range for your enemy, allowing the combat to take place anyway.

30 tactical bombers have an appallingly low combat efficiency, it's no wonder that you didn't do much damage, check your state based damage efficiency for stacks, the bigger the stack of units the less efficient it is.

I'm not sure there's an air combat guide, per se. However in air combat patrol mode, the combats resolve every 15minutes at 1/4 of the aircraft's strength.

I tend to patrol my planes in areas I have superiority, with only the smallest overlap with the enemy patrols. That or sitting an AA gun within his patrol route tends to result in casualties for the enemy quite easily.

learn more of the game mechanics, before saying the game is stupid. it will help you understand a lot of things.

in this case, any stack of many of the same units is penalized by low combat efficiency. split the bigger stack into groups of 10 and let them fight simultaneously. that way you get higher efficiency out of the 30 units
