sometimes when i have highlighted an air unit, i see a range ring. on other occasions i see an additional ring or two. today i had a tac unit relocating and in addition to one range ring there was an additional dotted ring beyond that.
You havn't formulated a question, but I assume you want to know what they mean?
The range ring with the unbroken line represents the range of your aircraft from the airbase it's currently using.
The range ring with the dotted line represents the rango of your aircraft if it would use the airbase that this ring belongs too. This airbase is a different one than it is currently using.
when there are two or three unbroken range rings around a unit, what do the other two mean?
It means you have 2-3 different types of aircraft with different ranges.
The single ring is the range from it's current position, solid double or triple rings are the same but due to having aircraft with different ranges.
The dotted rings are the ranges from the stack's selected destination.
