so how do you load planes aboard the carrier? all i can do is load the planes on their own separate convoy.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.

only a couple of planes can get aboard at a time (check the info on your aircraft carrier to see how many), then you should be able to use it just as a normal air base, so long as it's within their range the planes should just jump aboard...

however, be wary, I'm having issues with my carriers currently;

I'm unable to load tactical bombers on a level 4 carrier. Anyone know the secret.

was able to load fighters and offloaded them when I finished research on level 4. but will not take my tactical bomber.

You need lvl 4 tactial bombers, not lvl 4 AC.

Aircraft carriers have a capacity for aircraft. Only transports naval bombers and interceptors.
