Aircraft defence when on an aircraft carrier

if aircrafts in a carrier fleet with other types of naval ships are attacked do you get the defence of other units in the fleet, such as the anti air stats from the cruisers?

AFAIK they are on the ground. I.e. thry fight like if you have them standing on a eunway on land. You need to scramble them to use their unit stats. I don't think they do an automatic/invisible CAP (the carrier has it though)

Planes that are finished refueling and parked on the deck of the carrier will be considered a part of the group and they will return fire when attacked, just like any other group of units.

Planes parked on the ground also will return fire when attacked except during the brief refueling window.

Yes, but will they fire with their full stats? Or as loaded on trucks?

While refueling they have convoy stats, once that is completed they have full capabilities.

Thanks. That's counter-intuitive. Planes on a carrier deck are very, very vulnerable.

So I suppose they should be regarded as a CAP then.

Refueling planes are vulnerable.

Fully refueled planes are prepared to defend themselves, regardless of location shown.
