Alliance Wars
Greetings, wondered if the were a kind member of support crew. That could use a minute to check gold use, it went a little to shit as a member was unawere of gold rule, other crew was alloved to use the same as 1rst one, and when 1rst party meant they overdid it, they used some again, and it turned it to a pissing contest, so in hope of saving grief, i would love that someone from support crew would contact me and check it for us. So we can stop griefing and enjoy the game!

I have no clue what to do with that, m8, and spanish manual to.
the mentions are for them, as its easier to see a thread if you get mentioned, as it appear as a notification, the other part is my signatureCommanderincharge wrote:

ah ty
"No gold" is a gentleman's agreement, and is not supported as a "rule" by Bytro Staff, nor by Bytro resources. Gold checks and "no gold" rule are only supported by Bytro within the Player's League, and in staff invitationals.
Furthermore, the denouncing of enemies that have used gold in a game is prohibited.

It would be nice if there was a panel in the WH that tracks amounts of gold spent by each player.
Hiding it makes it shameful.
Showing it, makes it more like the guy at the poker table who buys more chips. He is putting more $$$ on the table 'cause he knows he can win.
It would also take care of the griefing that happens when "gentlemen agreements" start to fall apart.
A simple "Gold spent today and total" report at the end of each day would go far.
Can't wait to hear WO's response to that. *chuckle*F. Marion wrote:

It would make policing in the PL much simpler.

I enjoy poker but I won't sit down at a table that I can't afford.
It would be nice if we could at least see what everyone has bought in with in these games. A gentleman agreement to not go over a certain amount would be easy to track and make the game much more playable.
I freely admit to using gold to make up for the play sessions that I miss due to work. Seems entirely reasonable to me that if I get assigned a week beyond the edge of the internet, when I come back some of that overtime goes to my hobbies, like booze, babes, boardgames and bacon.
Unfortunately, Bytro likes it that way. They think they sell more gold when their so-called "big spenders" can exercise a decisive advantage.F. Marion wrote:

And the challenge is they have no way of measuring the lost potential income when I chose not to buy gold.
I think the HC has been worth the $$$.
Gold driven games are "fun" but in a cotton candy kind of way.
The value of gold is as a strategic reserve and a way to allow adults with real demands on their time still play a game that essentially is an on-line marathon.
The challenge of gold is there is always someone with more of it and without some way of balancing that playing field, I believe they are losing a demographic that would otherwise be interested in play.
I would suggest a few things on the gold front (for High Command players only, of course)
1) Give the players their running totals and last expenses over the past week.
2) Add amount of gold used to the stats section of the paper. That means every 5 days, gold use is published. No mysteries. No accusations and denials. Just the simple fact. On a five day rotation, it will provide very limited information about how it was used so the tactical and strategic value is not lost.
3) Allow players to turn gold usage on/off for a given game. If I am playing a non-gold game with the buds, make it easy. I am already paying High Command. Help me avoid that accidental "aw crap" click that spends gold. Heck, if you must, charge me 100 gold to toggle that gold/no gold button.
Right now, I am in a PL game. I intentionally ran my gold account down to nothing before the game started and will not buy gold until the game ends. Hard to spend gold I don't have. That has saved me at least once on a mis-click.
The button design for gold use is just plain dick-ish. It is far too easy to accidentally spend gold twice when once was intended. In my 13 months of playing Call of War, I have probably done it three or four times myself. I have read various forum complaints about the need for a gold-spending confirmation, but Bytro Labs knows about the problem and absolutely refuses to do anything about it. This disrespect shown to their consumers is extremely OBNOXIOUS.F. Marion wrote:

the best part for gold buttons is when you click it intentionally and then the servers gets lagged and you don't realize it and click a few times more, just in case, then you see you spent gold for the same action just because of a lag xD
Yeah, "server lag," that's it. * cough, cough *nemuritor98 wrote:
