Does the Anti air units in the game have a range, or do they only activate if attacked?

If they have a range, what is that range?

Save the goldfish! They need your help! Goldfish are trapped in small bowls all across the globe!

Hello,

AA will only defend themselves when enemy planes either patrol over them or the stack the AA is in gets attacked directly, so AA doesn't really have any range but anyway it's attacked by planes it will defend itself.
