Attack bombers are only 5 levels, are pretty expensive and dont have a big range. Do I even need them, especially if I am also using artillery?
Theyre importiant for heavy armor and take less damage on average than artillery, which can be attacked by other ranged units and stealth if it makes it, aswell.-BLOOP- wrote:

I play many games without them. But they are certainly useful sometimes.

Attack bombers absolutely are not necessary, and I would go as far as to suggest you not use them unless you are Axis or maybe Comintern.-BLOOP- wrote:

Attack bombers can be amazing support tools and fun to play with but too many players rely on them as their main weapon for destroying heavy armour, which is a mistake.
Never assume your bombers will have free reign over land. Interceptors, rocket fighters, anti-air, and SP anti-air are all counters that could render your attack bombers barely usable.
