Are Paratroopers definitively better than Mechanized Infantry?
•
When comparing the stats against ground units of Level 1 Paratroopers and Mechanized Infantry (on the Allies doctrine
Paratroopers
Unarmored 9.0
Light Armor 4.5
Heavy Armor 3.0
Mechanized Infantry
Unarmored 8.5
Light Armor 4.5
Heavy Armor 3.5
(Both units have the same Attack/Defense values)
We can see that Paratroopers have better stats against infantry, equal with light armor, and slightly worse with heavy armor. The production costs of both units at Level 1 are about the same, with mechanized infantry requiring metal and oil instead of goods and rare materials, although Paratroopers have a +30 minute minimum production time.
Given that Paratroopers have the added bonus of being able to fly into enemy territory, are they definitively better? I would think that the only real advantage that Mech. Infantry gives is being in the light armor class, which would make it better for attacking infantry but more vulnerable to tanks.

Which is close the main theme of this thread?
1. In view of historical facts, Paratroopers are more of the stats ( “ strength ” ? ) than the mechanized infantry It is proper to be low.
2. In view of the gameplay, Paratroopers are the stats for the Unarmored unit than the mechanized infantry It is reasonable to be low.

mech infantry has x3 more anti air damage at highest level but if you have anti air who cares mech infantry's anti air damage , oil and iron needs for another units too
paratroopers has level 6 stealth at highest level for forest , its range to jump is very short and mostly useless and you cant carry them with aircraft carriers
I will give my vote to motorized infantry if we need to choose a infantry type unit
because it has level 6 scout armored cars can reach only level 5 and they cant see highest level commandos and paratroopers
and it needs food , you dont need food outside of ships for other units and ships not very important , so you need to spend your food , noone want to trade food , because food is mostly useless in game
add them medium tanks sp artilleries sp rocket artilleries sp anti air and move everywhere where you want without fair , its speed not very important , scout level 6 is cool

Paratroopers are for air attacks, Mech. Inf. is for ground attacks. They're both equal

I was more so referring to the individual unit stats of a Ground Paratrooper and a Mechanized Infantry unit, where a level 1 Paratrooper deals more damage to infantry, making it arguably more viable for the anti-infantry role.
