At peace inactive countries declar war?

I am playing the Domination Antarctica map. In the last few days 6 countries where that Players have long gone inactive have declared war. Why would this happen?

The elite AI does not trust you, and is declaring war preemptively.

You can search for threads on deadline with the elite AI.

The AI giving you trade embargo could be a sign that they're treating you as a hostile country and is preparing for war. Also, if your popularity is extremely low, AI nations have a much higher chance of attacking you.
