So, just out of curiosity, what happens if I attack an enemy airbase while the planes linked to it are out on a patrol? Are the planes destroyed as well? Or are they simply reassigned to another Air Base somewhere?
If you conquer the airbase they will return to the airbase after 15 min. But it is possible that your enemy in the 15 minuters can assign those airplanes to another airbase as long as the airbase can be reached without landing at the airbase.
Don't though. There is a nasty feature that make aircraft super OP. The only way to kill them is via nukes, artillery or airstrikes. Cast your vote and complain here: Aircraft-Airfield Debuff
They are on patrol not afloat
They still screw t up. It has started happening when they are in trucks too.
