Avoid Extreme Players?

I've been inactive on here for a while playing Iron Order 1919. I was Germany (surprisingly) and I managed to conquer all of Europe and some of North Africa. However, there was this alliance that had 4 players go on this map so by that time they conquered North & South America and made headway in Africa. I just gave up after they invaded me, since they're a bunch of pricks and I tried to be nice and peaceful but they just ghosted me. It's like every game I join is like this, similar thing happened last time in Call of War. Out of the dozens of maps that go through and get filled every day I just so happen to be in the one where I lose and my stats go down. I know there's some way to prevent this from happening, if anyone with enough experience knows when all the good players are online and joining new games or something.
