Background Images?

Would It be possible to get the loading image files? TBH some of them would make good wallpapers for my pc.

You can decode them from the page source. One example is:

https://www.callofwar.com/clients/ww2-client/ww2-client_rc/images/splash/background_images/splashscreen_desktop_2.jpg

I guess you can replace the serial number at the end to get the different ones, or browse the page source when you "just loaded" the one you like.

Mind you, I have no idea if these pictures are copyright-protected!

They likely are, so distribution or sharing of them would be unwise. Personal use as a player of the game is likely allowed under the terms and conditions that you agreed to when creating your account.
