donโt choose a country
Backing out of a game prior to actually joining the map
I am always hesitant in joining a game because I am leery about joining a game in the process I understand. From what I can tell, I am joining a game as soon as I accept the "are you sure" button and then there is no going back...
Is there a way to not join a game if the countries available to play are not worthy of playing?

I guess I just close out the screen and reload the program?
If you become a "Beta Client" you can enter a game as spectator. Then you can see who is in the game and what countries are available. then you have to back out of the game and re-enter as a player, if you want to do so. Often the country you thought you coulsd get disappears while you are backing out. It's bettter than just joining and then not playoing, though. I don't understand why they don't fix this. It causes lots of afks.
This was really bad advice. Once I "joined" but did not select a country, that game was listed as an active game for me. Does that mean I will get a country pushed on my at the end?Destructo the Great wrote:

I don't understand why you would give this inaccurate information.
If you are not choosing a country the game will see you as inactive and you will not have to play that specific game.Goose 72 wrote:

You can choose one of the games along the bottom bar with the option to spectate. Let's you see what is available, who is already in the game...and does not commit you.
On the "New Games" wall you can select a game to Join without committing to the game until you select the nation you want to play. If you do not pick a nation to play, in 10 minutes you will be kicked from that game to make room for someone else who.
While waiting out the 10 minute wait time, the game will show as one of your Active games, then will be removed if you get kicked.
So you can go in, look around to see what countries are still available, then decide if you want to join.
I wonder whether this will also be reduced from games "joined" I like this number to be low to actually represent a reliable ration of games entered and participated in and the number of wins.OneNutSquirrel wrote:

If this is not the case than the DEVS should really reconsider how the mechanism is working in my opinion, either the counter (only counts when a land is picked) or you should be able to backout actively using a button (which is much more clear to a user.
Yes, it is not counted in your record as a game joined. I've joined several games before deciding not to play due to the countries available and none of those games have shown up in my record.
